My African Safari Experience Began in the
Kruger National Park
Ever since I can remember, The Lowveld has been my home. Growing up on the outskirts of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, my African safari experience began long before I ever realised how special it truly was. Regular visits to the park from a young age allowed me to explore the natural world and discover its extraordinary biodiversity – dusty dirt roads winding through vast stretches of bushveld, the sound of lions calling in the distance, and endless horizons painted with African sunsets.
Those early days in the bush sparked a deep connection to the land and wildlife of Southern Africa, shaping not only my childhood, but the path my life would eventually take.
My Early Safari Experience Shaped My Path
Those early safari adventures shaped me in ways I couldn’t yet understand. They taught me respect for nature, patience in observing wildlife, and a profound appreciation for the delicate balance of life in the bush.
In 2016, I took the leap and became a safari guide through Campfire Academy. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours in the African bush, guiding travellers from all over the world on unforgettable safari experiences – sharing stories, tracking animals, and witnessing those quiet, magical moments that only nature can offer.
Imagine watching a leopard disappear silently into tall grass, spending time alongside a herd of elephants as they pass your safari vehicle or enjoying the stillness of the bush before dawn. Every safari reminds me why I fell in love with the bushveld in the first place.
I began working in this industry because of my love for the natural world, but I stayed because of the incredible people I’ve met along the way – guests whose wonder and excitement mirror my own passion for safari.
From Passion to Purpose: A new chapter.
While guiding has always been deeply fulfilling, my bigger dream was to create something of my own – a safari tour operator in Southern Africa that offers experiences beyond simple game drives. I envisioned a company that curates meaningful moments, connecting people with nature in a personal and authentic way.
After years of guiding and learning from some of the finest professionals in the safari industry, that dream is now taking shape. Zalu Tours and Safaris is the realization of that vision. Our goal is to create thoughtfully curated African safari experiences that leave a lasting impression long after the journey ends.
